7 May 2013 Today both the Pelkhil girls’ and boys’ teams played their first match against their counterparts from Motithang HSS. Yesterday MHSS boys had trounced Nima HSS and the girls had also won. Today their boys faced a tougher opponent in Pelkhil. However, our boys’ shooting was still quite dismal despite good ball handling and rebounding. This allowed the MHSS boys to keep the game very close.
The game was a heartstopping event until the very last second with Pelkhil winning by just 1 basket.
The girls’ match not so close in the end with the MHSS girls stretching the lead quite comfortably. However, the game was a tight one before the last quarter. Unfortunately several Pelkhil girls fouled out in the last quarter and affected the final outcome. The team really missed the gritty work ethic of Pema Tshoki and Muna Subedi from 2012.
The boys’ next match is likely to be with another tough team from Rinchen HSS on 9 May.
