Candidates with Examiners
Our heartiest tashi delek to our Judo Black Belt candidates who undertook the Black Belt Exam this summer. All 6 candidates have successfully achieved history by becoming Bhutan’s first blackbelt holders in Judo! Of the 30 or so long term students of judo in the Pelkhil Judo Club, seven candidates were eligible for the blackbelt test. Of the seven one dropped out. The 6 who took the exam were:
- Siddhartha (XII)
- Jigme Gyeltshen (XII)
- Pema Dargay (Campus Security)
- Phub Dorji RBA MTC
- Lungten Tshering RBA Wing 8
- Jaku RBA Wing 5
The exam was specially authorized by the Kodokan in Japan as Bhutan does not yet have a Judo Federation that is affiliated with the International Judo Federation.
