18 June Today was the first day of the Midterm Examinations. There are 4 examinations in a year – Unit Test I and the Midterms in the first semester, and Unit Test II and the Final Exams in the second term. Students failing in these exams will be placed on Academic Probation (AP), not a very happy place to be! All students placed on AP will be expected to put in more effort and get out of AP in the next major exam. Those remaining on AP longer than permitted may be asked to leave the school.

Being required to just pass an examination is a very low standard indeed. Being unable to just pass reflects a lack of any effort. We hope that the consequence of being asked to leave will create some motivation to work harder.
