SCIENCE EXPO 2012

Students of Class IX make their presentations

10 October 2012 Our Annual Science Exposition was held today on campus. The untimely rain posed a challenge as the plan was to conduct the entire event in our spacious courtyard. The program went ahead after shifting some of the items to the recreation hall in Block C.

The students have been excited all week preparing for the event. The only glum looking ones were those in Class X and XII who were not allowed to participate. The most excited were the students of class 5 who were ready with their presentation almost a week ahead of schedule! Overall the presentations were very good and successfully achieved what they were supposed, which is to stimulate fresh thinking in various fields of science. Many parents said they did get a lot of food for thought.

We also had visitors from several other schools in Thimphu including Changakhaha LSS, Changzamtog LSS and Loselling LSS. Unfortunately, most could not attend for a number of reasons. However the overall turnout was better than expected.

After the program, the students were permitted to leave with their parents. We are disappointed to report that the parents of 80 students did not bother to attend the event. This will be the last school event on our calendar. Henceforth, all students will be expected to settle down and focus on the upcoming final exams.
