Sporting Achievement

A measure of the School’s success in promoting sports among students is the number of trophies won in inter-school tournaments. The first major trophy was won in 2013 in basketball. It began with becoming the Thimphu champions, then the regional champions and finally national champions. In 2017, Pelkhil School won more than 14 trophies in various sporting events, the most by far, among all schools in Bhutan.

The Pelkhil School athletes include many first XI players of the Bhutan national men’s football team as well as the U-19 and U-17 teams. Pelkhil School also hosts the national Judo team that has represented Bhutan at the South Asian Games 2016 and many other international events.

Pelkhil School also supports various national sports federations through scholarships for their national level players.
